Barrett Business Services, Inc. Announces Acquisition of Professional Personnel, Inc.

PORTLAND, Ore., Nov. 25 /PRNewswire/ -- Barrett Business Services, Inc.

(Nasdaq: BBSI) announced today that it has acquired certain assets of

Professional Personnel, Inc. located in Downey, California for $195,000 in

cash.

Professional Personnel's annual revenues for the fiscal year ended

September 30, 1996 were approximately $2.4 million and generated a gross

margin of approximately seven percent. Professional Personnel currently

provides staff leasing services to approximately 50 companies principally in

the professional office and clerical fields. The acquisition is expected to

further improve operating economies at Barrett's new Orange County branch

office.

Barrett Business Services is a human resource management company with

offices in Washington, Oregon, Idaho, California, Arizona, Maryland and

Delaware. Barrett reported revenues of $179.8 million and net income of

$4.1 million for 1995.
